350 Words Limit Worked Well. Let's Try a 250-Word Limit!
On December 5th, after daily blogging for 2 weeks straight, I decided to limit my blog posts to no more than 350 words.
I've always tended to write a LOT in my posts and messages.
And I've often thought it'd be good to focus on writing less. 😅
Before December 5th, I spent time editing my posts so they averaged right about 600 words each.
However, all of my posts - 15 of them - from the 5th on have been 350 words or less.
And this one will be too. 😊
Technically, one post - the Bear Blog Question Challenge - was 431 words... BUT that's only because the words of the questions themselves. My writing - the answers - stayed within the 350 words limit.
One reason I wanted to limit myself in this way is that I'm a big believer in contraints inspiring creativity and innovation and otherwise driving improvements.
Also I greatly appreciate simplicity. I think simpler is almost always better.
I've enjoyed this experiment and consider it a great success!
I like my writing much better constrained within this 350-word limit. These last 15 posts are more focused and smoother to read.
So...
I'm now going to try a 250-word limit, starting with this post! 😃
It will be interesting.
Maybe I'll need to do a post series... post 1 of 2, post 2 of 2. 😁
