24 Christmas Activities in 4 Categories to Inspire Micro-Game Designs
After watching videos of 35 previous game projects of mine, gamedev interest is ~90%. 😅
So... I thought of the following Christmas-themed activities, categorized into 4 groups: Real Life Personal, Real Life Community, Santa Claus, and Christian.
REAL LIFE PERSONAL
- Getting a Christmas tree
- Hanging up the outside Christmas lights
- Baking Christmas Goodies
- Stealthily getting gifts inside, wrapped and under tree
- Going to the family Christmas gathering
- Dealing with problems at the family gathering
REAL LIFE COMMUNITY
- Organize local food delivery
- Manage local toy drive
- Christmas caroling
- Deliver food to the needy
- Collect donations
- Help with the local Christmas parade
SANTA
- Elves create toys
- Reindeer training for fitness
- Santa updating naughty and nice lists
- Elves loading toys on Christmas Eve
- Santa doing test take off, flight and landing
- Santa delivering gifts
CHRISTIAN
- The wise men follow the star
- Mary & Joseph prepare for their Bethlehem trip
- Mary & Joseph travel to Bethlehem
- Joseph prepares manger area for Mary
- Sheperds watching over their sheep
- Joseph & family escape overnight
Each activity can be interpreted & implemented in many different ways.
20 unique games would likely result from 20 game devs choosing the same activity.
My interest now is tiny 2D games that'd be right at home on the Odyssey 2, Intellivision or even PICO-8.
I have no idea which activity I'll choose or, IF I even WILL. 😂
